Welcome to Explorations!
eMotions Graphics Framework

About:

eMotions

The eMotions Graphics Framework (EGF) is a script based extension directly to OpenGL. eMotions is an independent graphics engine that can be harnessed for any 2D or 3D project. It features a simple object based syntax and has been used to drive games created with Explorations RPG System. eMotions Graphics Framework was written in PowerBASIC.

eMotions v3.0 includes dynamic font rendering and embedded GUI components to create user interfaces similar to Windows. Everything is managed within OpenGL enabling full 3D position & rotation. Simply Amazing!

Design:

eMotions

eMotions was originally designed to run Explorations games. It soon became a separate entity when its potential was realized. eMotions does not require you to own Explorations to develop games. It's syntax is complex enough to handle every aspect of a game. Anything from 2d scrollers to click and point action adventures could be created using eMotions.

The eMotions API can be located in the documents section or through external websites. If you are interested in eMotions its recommended that you visit the forums and download the demo to get the basics of scripting in eMotions. Once you have familiarized yourself with the system (Using the examples and tutorials) You can attempt more advanced concepts such as interface design.

Interface:

eMotions

As mentioned earlier eMotions powers the Explorations Driver. So its no surprise you can alter some core components such as the GUI and system interfaces to create eye-catching effects. Taking advantage of the GUI controls is a key component to eMotions. It supports a wide range of resources and allows for advanced image manipulation. (Such as Position changes, Rotation changes, Scaling, etc..)

eMotions properties also translate into the Explorations driver. That means simple properties such as BLT and POS can be applied to any object within Explorations (or eMotions). You can access all the available variables by using the "ScriptAs.." feature.
