- eMotions v2.0 Released!
Today, I proudly present the eMotions
v2.0 graphics engine! This OpenGL extension represents the core
component for EPF, Explorations Presentation Foundation. It is
a text based script language for creating all things Explorations. And
while this play on words follows Microsoft's WPF (Windows Presentation
Foundation), this little baby is just under 5MB, and doesn't require
Vista, 8GB of RAM or a PC upgrade.
This install will make all associations so you can
double-click and execute any of the .MOTION sample files. This
sample demo contains an interactive window so you can
view/edit the script as well as the parse
log to learn how eMotions scripting works. Some of the features includes lighting, shadows,
alphablending, dithering, full 3D rotation, and collision detection.
This graphics framework is
used for the core of Explorations v9.0. It's Open-Source script based
design will allow real-time game editing with playback in a FULL 3D
OpenGL environment. But, enough of my hype..

- Moving..
All is well on the
Explorations campus. I am testing eMotions and Explorations heavily
now. I am scheduled to move into my new apartment on 3/20/2008, which
means my internet and InstaRender wont transfer until Saturday.
eMotions v2.0
(OpenGL) is looking very smooth now. I really wanted to
release a beta before I moved, but we must not rush these things. ;) I
assure you, that you wont be dissapointed.

02.25.2008 - Very Close!
I
must apologize
for the delay regarding the release of Exploratiosn v9.0. Because
this is my final release for Explorations, I wanted to make sure
I have covered all the needed features & improvements. The OpenGL
port is now flawless, and all outstanding bugs regarding stability
have been fixed.
I have worked hard to
maintain almost 85% compatibility for upgrading data objects to v9.0.
(This was the major burden over the past month.) This week, I have
added the A* pathfinding routine to the engine which allows any object
that is attached to a "Region" to be navigated. Everything appears
stable.
There are soo many cool things going on in my
life. Right now, accuracy is much more important the speed to
deliver/release. The v9.0b editor is still
available for download. Please test this and post any errors you may
find. There isn't much activity in the forums, but I'm sure this will
improve when v9.0 drops.

01.05.2008 - eMotions v2.0
(OpenGL)
I am very proud to announce that
Explorations 3D will be largely possible due to the conversion of
eMotions Graphics Engine to OpenGL
. The original eMotions design converted to OpenGL with
only a few wrapper routines to convert Win Bitmaps to
GL textures. OpenGL is absolutely what this project needs! The shading, and lighting
is commercial quality and text renders quick and crisp.
eMotions & Explorations never looked better.
This change
means that Explorations v9.0 is still a little behind schedule, but in
very good shape for a January release. Hop in the forums and
drop me a line!

- Explorations v9.0b release
As promised,
Explorations v9.0b is available for download. This is a pre-release to
enable the game editor to get some heavy debugging. I have not
included Driver2.0 in this release so you can not make a playable
game. As always this feature is disabled
for all DEMO release. I have included a sample
game LIBRARY for you to test out Ev9.0

v9.0 will be officially released Dec. 15, 2007. The unofficial beta
should be ready within a few weeks. So feel free to pre-order v9.0

- Explorations v8.9.500 (updated)
I have
re-released all of the applications on the PRODUCTS page. This new
release contains all of the ActiveX controls into a seperate install,
eGaming Runtimes (EGRun.EXE). This runtime will install into a
seperate folder, self-register and contains all of the custom controls
used by Explorations v8 & v9, and InstaRender. I seperated these
files so the transition to Explorations v9 will go smoothly.
Explorations v9
is moving along, but I'm not quite ready for a release. There is much
to do ... stay tuned.. |

The InstaRender
Server is back! Feel free to download InstaRender v2.0 and test out
the online sprite rendering webservice. More sprites &
animations are coming soon.

I have
released Explorations v8.9.500 (FINAL) today. Please uninstall any
previous versions of Explorations before you install this release. This
release includes the NEW! Driver v1.5. I've
also updated the demo (below) with the latest driver for anyone who wants

The new
Explorations game driver is coming along better than ever! So good,
I've decided to release a sample "game-play" demo for everyone to play

06.26.2007 - eMotions
Engine
The eMotions 2D
game engine is coming to completion as I develop the Explorations
Driver v1.5/v2.0. This game engine feature an Open Source, TEXT based
object builder that can create GUI (Graphic User Interface) controls,
animations, game sprites, maps and more. The engine also feature full
sound, and media play back support. eMotions has over 15 embedded GUI
components to make development easy. Simply use the controls included
or build your own custom controls!

06.25.2007 - INSTARENDER SERVER
DOWN!
The InstaRender server
experienced a power-supply failure. I will be upgrading this hardware
within the week and will have the rendering server back online within
the next few days. :) Bare with me.

06.24.2007 - VISTA
COMPATIBILITY
The $15 SALE is Over! The
newest release
of Explorations v8.9.325 has several minor bug fixes. I have also
upgraded all .DLL/OCX references to exclusively VB6.0 (SP6). This upgrade
has been confirmed to enable Explorations to function perfectly on
WindowsXP (SP2), and Windows VISTA. (not that VISTA really
matters..) |

V8.9 FOR JUST $15
I have released Explorations v8.9.226 today! This is a
FULL release and encorporates all of the minor patches over the past
few months. Explorations v8.9 is running more stable than ever so if
you have an old version it would be wise to AutoUpdate or download
this full package. I've made some minor improvements to the game
Driver v1.0, and even added a new script command "Get_CharProp{}". The
Registration Server hasn't received any critical system crashes in
quite some time, so I believe these are the final days of bugs within
Explorations v8.9! That being said, I've put the FULL BASIC license on
sale for just $15. Every game made with Explorations is an ONLINE
game!

(RELEASED)
I
have finished the final debug phase of InstaRender v2.0. This baby is
better than ever! The interface handles multiple submissions,
custom background settings, and even anti-aliasing. Check out this

01.22.2007 - eMotions GRAPHICS ENGINE
(RELEASED)
I have
released eMotions (Demo) with a very nifty VB Control Panel. (source
code included) The Control Panel will simply copy the necessary
.MOTION files to the \EXE folder for your convenience. There is
also a nifty demonstration on moving sprites via eMotions. The Free
Demo is not optimized so the engine will have a small
delay between clicks. (registering exposes the full API.) Check
